Welcome back to 100 Rejections Club, where we submit more, stack up more rejections, and celebrate together because… Rejections mean we’re striving toward our creative self-expression goals.
All I want for Christmas is just two more weeks, just two more weeks, just two more weeks…
The way things calendared this year, I feel like I lost a week (or two) to prepare for Christmas? And now: It’s Here!
When I was in second grade in a Southern California public school, our class sang “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” as part of the school assembly just before winter break. I’d lost my two front baby teeth, so my lisp was REAL. Turns out, a Long Island, NY, public school music teacher penned the tune in 1944 in just 30 minutes after he noticed two-thirds of the second graders he was coaching for their Christmas show were missing one or both front teeth. Such continuity across the decades!
Belated Hanukkah Lights, Merry Christmas tomorrow, and just to get a jump on things: Joyful Kwanzaa, Happy New Year, and Mangia that Epiphany cake.
Next time: New Year’s Resolutions? No no no no no no no (See how I tied that into the Rejections theme? Score! )
