Some comments about sentence length and style may reflect the reader’s personal preferences. Though I agree. When two or more make the same comment, take heed.

another helpful article, but i think you missed the mark in that you're writing about editors or feedback from those who are genuine and actually might be acting as 'uplifters' rather than gatekeepers(i know, how can we account for those who aren't very professional...we can't)...the 'editing' i've gotten from inlandia and other submissions from 'real' journals was like a gem getting polished...intention and training of the editors is huge

the quality of your words on comments runs parallel to the attention or care demonstrated by your work...it's great to see and read, and maybe you need to write a book on this topic, i'd buy the ebook...i think the problem for a lot of us writers, be they experts or beginners, is when editors or even readers just make up comments to reject a piece and then we actually take it seriously...i've had this a couple of times only, but it's confusing and then the chocolate binges start...
